Introduction

We offer a career oriented technological degree programme 'Physician Assistant', a Paramedical Biotechnical branch of Health Sciences.

Talented Meritorious and ambitious 12th standard students will find this course to be of immense benefit on successful completion. They will receive recognized degree of B.Sc. Physician Assistant from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.

This is a unique programme designed for students who intend to pursue carrier in health related fields. The curriculum prepares the students for a wide range of career positions in hospitals, which has high demand now and always. Based on the interdisciplinary nature of health services, this programme will provide a comprehensive foundation in Basic science, Social science and Health science application.

Special laboratory training will enable the students to take up research in the biochemical field and help in new therapeutic approaches.


ELIGIBILITY

12th Standard or equivalent with 12 years schooling from recognized board or university with any subjects with minimum of 40% marks. All candidates must be at least 17 years old on December 31st of the year of admission.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

1. ORIGINALS TO BE PRODUCED

  • 12th Mark Certificate
  • Community Certificate
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Conduct Certificate
  • Migration Certificate
  • Eligibility Certificate (In case of UG completed in other University, Higher Education in Other State)

2. DOCUMENTS TO BE ATTACHED

The filled in application form should have attested copies of the following certificates.

  • 12th Mark Certificate
  • 10th Mark Certificate
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Conduct Certificate
  • Migration Certificate - if needed
  • Proof for Date of Birth(incase it is not available in TC or Mark Statement)
  • Passport size photograph - 6no's

3. CALL LETTER
Once eligibility criteria are met after the details given in the application form is verified, call letter would be sent to prospective candidates and they would be called for an interview. Candidates should bring the call letter along with them when they appear for the interview.

4. RESULT
Result of the interview and the selected candidate will be announced on the same day.

5. ADMISSION PROCEDURES
Admission open to candidates from all parts of India, provided they met the eligibility criteria. Candidates are admitted once in a year.

6. REGITRATION
At the time of admission, selected candidates are required to produce the original documents and report to the academic Department along with Eligibility Certificate issued by the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University.(For other than H.Sc. of Tamil Nadu)

UNIFORM

Students have to follow dress code while they are in college or hostel. In the College Premises, They have to wear uniform. The cost of the uniform has to be borne by the candidate.
Dress code for the College is given below:

BOYS: Light Sandal Shirt, Grey Pant & Black Shoes.
GIRLS: Light Sandal Top, Grey Bottom & Black Shoes. During Clinical Posting: Apron white

MEDICAL EXAMINATION

All the selected candidates will undergo a complete medical examination and their health records will be maintained during their training period. Parents are advised to state the health conditions of their wards and the health history of the family correctly. This would help the doctors to provide maximum medical help to be submitted, appropriately, else they shall be subjects for vaccination against preventable and dreadful diseases.

Students can avail the 24 hour medical service and facilities provided by the hospital. They should consult the Medical officer, Emergency department in case of any medical assistance.

ACCOMMODATION

Student are provided accommodation if needed within the campus itself. Students have to abide by the rules and regulations laid for them.

The Boarding and lodging facilities are made available inside the campus for the students at a nominal amount of around Rs.3000/- per month.

POINTS TO BE NOTED BY CANDIDATES WHO ARE ADMITTED TO UNDERGO THE COURSE

REGISTRATION: (University)

A Candidate admitted to the B.Sc. Degree course of this university shall register by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form for registration duly filled in and forwarded to the university through the Head of the institution within the stipulated date.

ACADEMIC TERMS:

First Year - 1st August to 31st July

Second Year - 1st September to 31st August

Third Year - 1st September to 31st August

Internship - 1st September to 31st August

CUT OFF DATES FOR ADMISSION TO EXAMINATIONS
  • The candidates admitted from 1st June to 30th September of the academic year will be registered to take up their first year examination on 1st august of the next year.
  • There will not be any admission after 30th September for the academic year.
WORKING DAYS IN AN ACADEMIC YEAR
  • The academic year shall consist of not less than 270 working days.
  • A candidate is required to put in minimum of 85% of attendance in both theory and practical/clinical separately in each subject before admission to the examination.
  • At the time of practical/clinical examination each candidate shall submit to the examiners his/her laboratory notebook duly certified by the Head of the Department as a bonafide record of the work done by the candidate.
COMMENCEMENT OF EXAMINATION

August 1st/February 1st. if the date of commencement falls on Saturdays, Sundays or declared public holidays, the examination shall begin on the next working day.

MARK QUALIFYING FOR A PASS

A candidate shall be declared to have passed the examination if he/she obtains 50% of the mark in university theory examination 50% of the marks in University practical examination and 50% aggregate in University Theory, Practical, Oral and Internal Assessment taken together.

CARRY OVER OF FAILED SUBJECT
  • The candidate is permitted to carry over subjects of the 1 year B.Sc. degree examination to the II year B.Sc. degree course.
  • The candidate shall not be permitted to undergo the III year course unless he/she has passed all the subjects in the I & II year.
  • Theory & Practical exams should be passed separately by a candidate. If he/she fail in theory or practical he/she should appear for both theory and practical exams.
RAGGING

As per Supreme Court of India orders, ragging of any kind is strictly prohibited by the institution. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given the liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory the authority would expel him from the institution.

CODE AND CONDUCT

Students are expected to present themselves pleasant able with wearing neat and tidy uniform. They are preferable expected to communicate mostly in English, as a task to improve their knowledge in English such that it might help them in future for taking international assignments.
